Public Relations
See below for more details on some of my bigger public relations projects.
2017 PRSSA Bateman Competition
From November 2016-April 2017, I worked on a team of four as part of the 2017 PRSSA Bateman Competition. For the competition, we held five events and ran several social media accounts. The goal of all of our efforts was to use public relations to fight mental health stigmas on campus. Read more about our campaign, Stop the Stigma, here.

QuikTrip
During the summer of 2015, I interned at Parris Communications in Kansas City, MO. One of my largest projects involved a Pay It Forward campaign for QuikTrip. Eeach day I searched news outlets in all areas of the U.S. with QuikTrips and compiled this list of potential Pay It Forward candidates with people who are doing great things in their communities (Note that for the purpose of this website, I've removed their addresses to protect their privacy.).
Once approved by the client, I wrote letters to those paying it forward and included three coupons for free QuikTrip food items, one for them, and two for them to continue paying it forward.

Camp Corral
I spent the summer of 2014 interning at MMI Public Relations. There, I wrote and pitched this press release to outlets all over the U.S., tailoring it to each specific region.
Here is the coverage I generated:
The Independent Online-Ashland, Ky.
The Jacksonville Daily News- Jacksonville, N.C.
The Winston-Salem Journal-Winston-Salem, N.C.
Fox 21 News-Colorado Springs, Colo.

At Parris, I wrote this press release, which earned coverage in the following publications:

Anderson Jones
At MMI Public Relations, I wrote this press release, which earned Todd Jones coverage in the Triangle Business Journal.

NCSMA
As a student assistant in the North Carolina Scholastic Media Association (NCSMA) office, I took the initiative to add upon the existing Twitter account. I now help manage the account not only by live tweeting events and news, but also by tweeting about articles relevant to scholastic journalists and advisers across the state.
Additionally, I plan and put on many events through NCSMA, most notably, The Chuck Stone Program for Diversity in Education and Media, where I work closely with directors to plan and run the prestigious weeklong workshop. Also, I plan and help run several other journalism workshops during the summer and career counseling events throughout the school year.

ECGA
For the Fall 2014 semester, I worked with the East Coast Greenway Alliance. My team and I conducted communications audits, wrote profiles, and worked on improving weaknesses among the nonprofit and in taking advantage of opportunities. Additionally, I would send Facebook and Twitter content to my client twice a week.
